Teaching and continuing education are essential in order to mantain excellence. Our aim is to provide our students clinical and theoretical knowledge to allow them to be more competitive in today's demanding markets.

Specialists must get involved in various educational programs that are developed within the service.

Plastic Surgery Department at the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau and Hospital del Mar is committed to teaching students of the Degree and Master's Degree in Medicine organized by Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Professionals give lectures and clinical practices in the framework of the optional subjects of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. The service also takes part in the development of doctoral thesis, masters and international courses.

The role of the specialist is to participate in educational and research programs of the hospital.

The educational program of the graduate students was approved in 1986 and was updated and ratified in 1996.

Students are actively involved in clinical sessions from other services which are held regularly. Our staff attend courses and conferences in different centres of reference around the world.
