The presence of professionals from the Hospital del Mar increases in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientist ranking

The Hospital del Mar and the Hospital del Mar Research Institute have achieved a record number of professionals, with 33 present in the new edition of the World's Top 2% Scientist, a ranking compiled by Stanford University in the United States.

The list highlights the most distinguished scientists globally among more than 8 million active science professionals. There are two lists, one considering the entirety of their careers based on citations in scientific journals, and the other doing the same but with data from recent years.

The recently published ranking includes professionals who have worked or are currently working on research at the Hospital del Mar or its research institute.

These professionals include Joan Albanell, Jordi Alonso, Francisco Álvarez Lerma, Joaquín Arribas, Esther Barreiro, Xavier Castells, Francesc Colom, and Marta Crespo. Also included are Rafael de la Torre, Mara Dierssen, Adolfo Díez Pérez, and Roberto Elosua. The list also features Laura Furlong, Fernando García Benavides, Antonio García de Herreros, Joaquim Gea, Ana Giménez Arnau, and Luis Grande.

Among the most cited scientists are Juan Pablo Horcajada, Jaume Marrugat, Jordi Mestres, Julio Pascual, Manuel Pera, Luis Pérez Jurado, Miquel Porta, Óscar Pozo, and Jesús Pujol. Finally, there are Jaume Roquer, Helmut Schröder, Jordi Segura, Antoni Sitges-Serra, Marc Suárez Calvet, and Marta Torrens.
