Dear Patient,
If you want to be evaluated in our centre and do not live in its reference area you must meet certain criteria for derivation. If your disease is not controlled, talk to your treating specialist to request an evaluation.
Our Epilepsy Unit is a reference centre for Catalonia designated for this purpose by the Government of Catalonia through the CatSalut entity, so any patient in the territory can be derived without any inconvenience if the treating specialist considers it appropriate. Once the evaluation is complete, you can return to your treating physician or perform any of the therapeutic procedures we can suggest.
In addition, we are national center for refractory epilepsy designated by the Ministry of Health in Madrid so any patient in the national territory can be referred to our Epilepsy Unit. To do this, the patient must meet certain requirements and complete a referral procedure called SIFCO. Once we receive the request for care from your Community, you will be notified for a medical evaluation within short time.
