The Hospital del Mar was the first Spanish center to start using a robot for the implantation of electrodes. Robotic surgery is therefore a technique of stereotactic implantation of electrodes performed by the neurosurgeon. In our unit, 10 to 15 patients are implanted per year for diagnostic purposes. The margin of safety is very high and is comparable to the traditional system of implantation with frame but much more time efficient. The comparative advantage lies in the dynamics of the procedure that allows optimizing hospital resources.
